FACADE SELF-PROCUREMENT (PROJECT DELIVERY)

Self-Delivering your facade package may seem daunting, but it has many benefits which we believe substantially outweigh the risks involved.

In its simplest form, ‘Self-Delivery’ is the term used within the construction industry to describe the act of performing tasks in-house that have traditionally been Sub-Contracted. You coordinate design services, material procurement and the construction phase directly, rather than paying a traditional Sub-Contractor to do so.
Alliance Facades is bridging the gap for those Main Contractors that like the idea of Self-Delivery but cannot or do not want to spend substantial amounts of money setting up an internal facade division. We are able to act as a bolt on facade contractor to your existing business, allowing you to realise most of the benefits of self-delivery, without the large investment.
We offer everything that leading facade specialists offer – we design, project manage, install, commission and handover at completion – however by utilising our supply chain partners, we cut out the middle-men (including their substantial margins) and facilitate you buying materials directly from a number of carefully selected product manufacturers. All you need to do is place the order direct with the manufacturers, which we will co-ordinate for you, and we’ll do everything else.
Some of the benefits include
  • Substantial cost savings vs traditional procurement route
  • Promotes collaborative working
  • Increased visibility from top to bottom of supply chain
  • Much more control over your facade works
  • Mitigates risks of failure in your traditional supply chain

SELF-PROCUREMENT STAGES

Facade Self-Procurement - Stage 1 Enquiry

Facade Self-Procurement – Stage 1 Enquiry

Entirely free of charge, we review your facade specification and project scope of works to assess if your facade scheme is suitable for ‘self-delivery’.
It is entirely in our interests to tell you if a project is not suitable for self-delivery and as such, we will be honest and open throughout this process. Some schemes maybe overly complex or use a facade system which is outside of our remit. If this is the case, we will advise you promptly so that you may pursue other procurement options.

Facade Self-Procurement - Stage 2 Facade Proposal

 Facade Self-Procurement – Stage 2 Facade Proposal

If suitable, we can then be engaged to provide a fully costed facade budget proposal. Your facade budget will include our quotations for design, project management and installation of your facade as well as project specific quotations from our supply chain partners for all materials and equipment required to deliver your project.
You can then choose to proceed with our proposal or use the fully costed budget to ensure you are getting value for money through your established supply chain.
There is a small fee for compiling a facade budget proposal, which is dependant on the complexity of your project.

Facade Self-Procurement - Stage 3 Detail Facade Design

Facade Self-Procurement – Stage 3 Detail Facade Design

If you decide to proceed with our proposal, we can then be engaged to complete the detail design of your facade. At this stage, we are in close contact with our supply chain partners to ensure a smooth transition to stage 4 (procurement).
It is at this stage that we can provide pre-construction consultancy advice on the planning and construction of your facade scheme.

Facade Self-Procurement - Stage 4 Procurement

Facade Self-Procurement – Stage 4 Procurement

At this stage, the detail design will be progressively completed to allow materials to be scheduled ready for procurement. As each section of works is designed and scheduled, you will be given all of the details to allow you to place an order directly with our supply chain partners, cutting out the middle man and saving you a substantial amount of money.
Our Project Management team will work very closely with your buyer during this stage to ensure cohesion between design, procurement and commencement of the works onsite. If you don’t have the resource in-house to oversee the procurement phase, we can do this for you and will ensure you are kept up to date on all matters.

Facade Self-Procurement - Stage 5 Project Management

Facade Self-Procurement – Stage 5 Project Management

As the onsite commencement date nears, we will provide an experienced Project Management team to ensure a safe and smooth construction phase.
This may include a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Site Manager, Site Supervisor, H&S and Quality assessors as required.
To ensure complete unity, there is generally some overlap with stages 3, 4, 5 and 6.

We can then provide skilled installation operatives who are trained in the relevant disciplines to install the works under the supervision of our Project Management team.
Safety and quality are continuously monitored and where possible, improved upon. As works are completed, they are checked to ensure they meet our rigorous quality criteria before being handed over to you in their finished state.
