Alliance Facades were contracted to provide over 4000m2 of high-performance curtain wall façade for Mercury House.
The Scope includes the provision of 4300m2 of Kawneer AA100 curtain wall, doors & window inserts alongside A2 aluminium cladding to the ground floor. Alliance Facades’ remit is to ‘wrap’ the entirety of the existing building, to provide a high performance façade providing the highest levels of thermal and acoustic comfort.
One of the key challenges posed by the existing buildings stature within the local community, was to match the existing aesthetics of the building. As such, we used a bespoke extruded cover cap to match the verticality of the existing system and provided a 1:1 façade mock-up to enable full approval by the planning officer.
